The collaboration establishes Ghana as the primary gateway for pan-African trade, featuring an exclusive high-level evening launch event on July 8th in Tema.
ACCRA, GHANA — June 12, 2026 — The International Trade Council (ITC) has officially announced a strategic partnership with Ghana Investment & Trade Week (GITW) 2026, anchoring a major milestone for continental commerce: the soft launch of the ITC Centre for Africa. Headquartered in the strategic port city of Tema, this new facility will serve as the Council’s operational nexus for trade facilitation, capacity building, and market entry across the African continent.
The partnership will be prominently featured throughout Ghana Investment & Trade Week, taking place from July 7–9, 2026, at The Palms Convention Center in Accra. The pinnacle of the collaboration will be an exclusive, high-level evening launch event hosted at the new Centre for Africa in Tema on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, bridging the gap between global capital and West Africa’s industrial heartland.
Ghana Investment & Trade Week 2026 is held under the high patronage of the Government of Ghana, featuring a keynote by Special Guest of Honor, H.E. Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. The summit will bring together global investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss industrialization, infrastructure finance, and regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
“Our collaboration with the International Trade Council reinforces Ghana Investment & Trade Week’s position as a leading platform for trade, investment, and business engagement in Africa,” said Zahoor Ahmed, Vice President of MIE Events. “By bringing together global chambers, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders, we are creating valuable opportunities to drive partnerships, unlock investment, and support Ghana’s vision for sustainable economic growth. We look forward to working closely with ITC to deliver meaningful outcomes for all stakeholders involved.”
The establishment of the ITC Centre for Africa in Tema highlights Ghana’s rapidly ascending status as the commercial capital of the continent, uniquely positioned to shield and scale international investments.
“Ghana is the absolute perfect launchpad for international businesses looking to establish a meaningful, permanent footprint in Africa,” stated George Glory Opeku, Chairman of the International Trade Council Centre for Africa. “Through the Tema Centre, we are highlighting an ecosystem that streamlines everything a modern enterprise needs—from seamless corporate incorporation and world-class warehousing facilities to duty-free manufacturing within our Free Zones and direct global connectivity via West Africa’s most efficient deepwater port. Combined with Ghana’s legal stability and political peace, there is no better gateway to the 1.3 billion consumers under the AfCFTA.”
