In a significant move to boost industrial development, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to establish 33 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLCs) across 30 districts. These clusters will be strategically positioned along major expressways to improve connectivity and foster industrial growth.
The IMLCs will cover a total area of 6,149.30 hectares, spanning key districts such as Meerut, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj, all connected by the Ganga Expressway. The Bundelkhand Expressway will also feature IMLCs, including a dedicated industrial corridor in Chitrakoot and a node for the Defence Industrial Corridor. Other districts targeted for development include Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, and Auraiya.
Additional IMLCs are planned for areas near the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway, and Purvanchal Expressway. To support these projects, a Request for Proposal (RFP) process has been initiated to select a consultant agency responsible for preparing environmental and clearance reports. The selected agency will conduct surveys and assemble a team of specialists in environmental science, socio-economics, and biodiversity.
Notable developments include a 62.93-hectare industrial corridor in Gorakhpur along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, and additional corridors of 143.63 hectares and 230.84 hectares in Ambedkar Nagar. For the Purvanchal Expressway, IMLCs are proposed on 90 hectares in Lucknow, 246.30 hectares in Barabanki, 148.68 hectares in Amethi, 338.99 hectares in Sultanpur, and 415.21 hectares in Ghazipur.
The upcoming UP International Trade Show, set to take place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, will feature these developments. Attendees will see 3D models of the expressways and industrial clusters, with 50 officials present to engage with investors and business leaders.
