This area has attracted various automotive vendors and seen the development of a high-value manufacturing park, further drawing investments from key players in the industry.
In addition, significant growth has been observed in the Sungai Buaya area due to investments from construction and development companies, enhancing the region’s industrial landscape. On the transportation and logistics front, the development of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) has opened new avenues for Serendah. The establishment of a station in Serendah, serving as a rail junction connecting the east coast, southern, and northern regions of Malaysia, positions the area as a central hub for logistics and distribution. The ECRL is expected to facilitate the movement of goods to and from key ports, bolstering Serendah’s strategic importance in the national logistics network.
The councillor noted that investments in logistics companies and related downstream activities are anticipated to grow in the Serendah area, reinforcing its status as a national transportation hub. Recent statements by the Transport Minister have underscored the transformation of Serendah into a primary logistics hub, driven by the ECRL project connecting key regions of Malaysia. This development is expected to spur economic activities, including the import and export of goods, and create numerous job opportunities, addressing unemployment issues in the region. Since 2020, Serendah, known for its automotive and electronic industries, has recorded significant investment values, further establishing its position as a critical industrial hub.
