A Chinese group specializing in equipment for power grids has inaugurated a new logistics and innovation center in Timisoara, located in western Romania. The investment, situated at Global worth Timisoara Industrial Park I near Timisoara Airport, is set to generate over 100 job opportunities in the region.
The center’s establishment aligns with Romania’s commitment to smart metering standards as mandated by the European Union. It signifies a significant step towards advancing smart power systems in Europe, particularly in Romania.
The facility, spanning 8,000 square meters, will serve as a hub for developing cutting-edge smart metering solutions, including intelligent electricity and water metering systems, distribution automation solutions, solar inverters, batteries, and electric vehicle chargers. This initiative underscores the group’s dedication to fostering technological innovation and environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, the investment reflects compliance with Romania’s smart meter development directive outlined by the national regulator ANRE for the period 2019-2028.
