From January to September 2025, Turkey produced over 1 million vehicles, reflecting stable growth and adaptability in a competitive global market. While passenger car output slightly declined by 3%, commercial vehicle production surged by 15%, led by a 17% increase in light commercial vehicles—an encouraging sign of demand from logistics and transport sectors.
Exports remained a key strength for Turkey’s automotive industry. Total vehicle exports reached 769,625 units, while the export value, including parts and components, climbed 11.3% to $29.7 billion. Commercial vehicle exports rose sharply by 28%, showing strong global demand for Turkey’s reliable and cost-efficient transport vehicles.
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the automotive industry maintained its position as Turkey’s leading export sector, accounting for 17.4% of the country’s total exports. The Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OIB) also reported strong gains, with exports from major manufacturers up 15% and parts suppliers up 7%, underscoring the robust performance of the entire automotive supply chain.
On the domestic front, total vehicle sales grew 9%, with passenger car sales up 10% and commercial vehicle sales up 4%. Locally produced vehicles represented a solid portion of sales, showing continued consumer confidence in homegrown products and strengthening the local market’s contribution to supply chain efficiency.
With ongoing investments in technology, logistics, and sustainable production, Turkey’s automotive sector is set to further enhance its competitiveness. The country continues to play a vital role as a strategic hub connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia through a resilient and innovative automotive supply chain.
