A recent webinar titled “Agro-Logistics: Business Opportunities + Clark National Food Hub” was held on June 27, aiming to attract foreign direct investments in the agro-logistics sector. The event was a collaborative effort between a government department and various stakeholders, focusing on the potential of the Clark National Food Hub.
This initiative followed a successful agro-logistics mission to the Netherlands, led by a senior government official. The Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands emphasized the strong ties between the Philippines and the Netherlands in agriculture and expressed support for further development of the Clark International Food Hub with Dutch expertise.
During the webinar, a representative from the Supply Chain and Logistics Management Division presented the three-year Food Logistics Action Agenda, which includes key projects such as the Clark National Food Hub and the National Logistics Investment Plan. Another official highlighted the transformative potential of the Clark National Food Hub, inviting investors to explore collaboration opportunities that leverage the strategic advantages of the hub.
The goal of these initiatives is to enhance food quality, raise hygiene and safety standards, and improve the efficiency of the food supply chain through modernized agro-logistics. This is expected to boost agricultural productivity, drive economic growth, and ensure food security by empowering local farmers and fisherfolk.
An executive emphasized the proactive approach of the Philippines in attracting foreign businesses, highlighting the importance of experiencing the Philippine business environment firsthand. The organization offers programs for B2B matchmaking, visibility, and networking opportunities.
The session concluded with a call to action from an ambassador, encouraging companies to visit the Philippines and explore investment opportunities. She highlighted the upcoming AgriLink 2024 exhibition at the World Trade Center in Pasay from October 3-5, which will offer businesses a chance to connect with local partners and explore potential investments.
This initiative was supported by multiple organizations, including the Philippine Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands Embassy in the Philippines, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) office in Brussels, and several Dutch trade councils and business associations.
