In a strategic move to capitalize on the rapidly evolving supply chain technologies market, three UK-based global forwarders have jointly acquired the British logistics software company Forward Computers Ltd. from the Freight Software Group. This acquisition reflects the growing complexity of the logistics industry and the increasing need for advanced technological solutions.
The consortium, comprising Cardinal Partnership, Davies Turner, and Woodland Group, has established a holdings company named Forward Computers Alliance to oversee the Windsor-based software firm. The newly acquired company will operate as an independent business under the name Forward Solutions.
The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Brian Hay, CEO of Cardinal Partnership, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, stating, “The forwarding industry is evolving across air, ocean, and multimodal transport. Investing in technology is essential to providing comprehensive solutions that meet the dynamic needs of the market.”
The integration of Forward Solutions is expected to enhance the technological capabilities of the three forwarders, allowing them to offer more sophisticated and efficient services to their global clientele. This move underscores the industry’s shift towards digitalization and the adoption of innovative software to streamline operations and improve supply chain visibility.
