In a bid to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly growing U.S. market, a global fast fashion retailer headquartered in Singapore with origins in China has revealed plans to establish a new supply chain office in downtown Bellevue, Wash. The move is geared towards better managing the retailer’s burgeoning U.S. operations and enhancing the efficiency of its fulfillment and logistics processes.
The new office, spanning nearly 10,000 square feet at Bellevue’s Key Center, will serve as a centralized hub for the retailer’s U.S. fulfillment and logistics operations. By establishing a local presence, the retailer aims to optimize delivery times for its American customers, aligning with its commitment to providing swift and seamless service.
Anticipating significant growth, the retailer plans to have over 50 employees working at the new office by the end of 2024. Recruitment efforts are underway to fill various positions supporting logistics and distribution efforts across the United States. These new hires will join a rapidly expanding U.S. team, which already comprises more than 1,500 corporate and warehouse employees across various cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Whitestown, Ind.
The decision to expand its presence in the U.S. market comes amid impressive sales growth and strategic developments. With sales surging by over 20% in the first 10 months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, the retailer has positioned itself as a key player in the fast fashion industry. Moreover, reports suggest that the retailer has confidentially filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in the U.S. stock market, underscoring its ambition to further expand its reach.
Commenting on the expansion, the retailer’s head of U.S. fulfillment and logistics emphasized the importance of the U.S. market. Expressing excitement about establishing a presence in the Seattle area, the executive highlighted the retailer’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience. The move not only signifies the retailer’s dedication to streamlining its supply chain but also reflects its commitment to contributing to the local community and fostering innovation in the Pacific Northwest region.
