Saudi Arabia’s logistics services sector has experienced a significant surge, registering a 76% growth rate with 11,928 new registrations in the second quarter of this year, marking it as a leading sector, according to the latest Business Sector Bulletin from the Ministry of Commerce. The bulletin highlighted robust economic activities across diverse regions of the country.
The artificial intelligence (AI) sector also saw notable growth, increasing by 53% with 8,948 registrations. Leading in registrations was Riyadh with 5,492, followed by Mecca with 1,789, the Eastern region with 939, Medina with 254, and Asir with 115. Cloud-computing services also showed strong growth, with a 43% increase resulting in 2,358 registrations compared to 1,648 in the same period last year. Riyadh led with 1,446 registrations, followed by Mecca with 473, the Eastern region with 272, Medina with 57, and Qassim with 25.
Additionally, the electronic games industry recorded a 29% rise in commercial registrations, totaling 336 in the second quarter of 2024 compared to 260 in the corresponding quarter of 2023.
