Oneida County in New York has been granted $23.6 million for the development of a semiconductor supply chain campus at the shovel-ready 332-acre Griffiss ‘Triangle’. This initiative aims to establish the site as a premier location for semiconductor supply chain activities.
The FAST NY grant program awarded funding to seven shovel-ready sites, with Griffiss receiving the largest allocation, according to Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. Positioned conveniently in the center of New York State and adjacent to key industry players such as Wolfspeed and Micron, the ‘Triangle Site’ at Griffiss is poised to become the state’s leading semiconductor supply chain campus, offering substantial power capacity and unlocking significant potential for job creation.
Picente expressed gratitude to Governor Hochul for the funding, emphasizing the immense opportunity it presents for the community. The project, supported by a local match of $2,691,000 from various partners including Griffiss Local Development Corporation (GLDC), Mohawk Valley EDGE, C&S Companies, and the City of Rome, will facilitate infrastructure and transportation enhancements to accommodate up to 3.9 million square feet of developable area.
This development signifies a significant step forward in bolstering the semiconductor supply chain infrastructure in the region, with the potential to stimulate economic growth and create thousands of new job opportunities.
