A global logistics service provider has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art smart supply chain industrial park in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. This facility, which represents a significant investment of RMB 1.5 billion ($211.6 million), spans 150,000 square meters and is designed to handle up to 6 million parcels per day at peak capacity.
The new transportation hub is strategically timed to support the upcoming “Double 11” shopping festival, underscoring the provider’s commitment to enhancing logistics capabilities within the region. Since its entry into the Chinese market, the organization has consistently focused on bolstering its logistics infrastructure by establishing self-operated hubs at key transportation points.
Equipped with cutting-edge smart logistics sorting technologies, the industrial park features advanced systems such as cross-belt sorters, tilt-tray sorters, high-speed unloading wheels, smart scanners, and security inspection machines. These automated solutions leverage precise smart identification methods, resulting in reduced sorting errors and shortened transit times, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The facility also includes over 40,000 square meters of cloud-based warehousing, offering tailored supply chain solutions for e-commerce clients. These services encompass warehouse management, drop shipping, and return logistics, facilitating seamless collaboration throughout the supply chain.
In addition to improving logistics operations, the park emphasizes sustainability. It is equipped with solar panels covering 54,500 square meters, which are projected to generate over 7.1 million kWh of electricity annually. This initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 5,584 tons per year, equivalent to the carbon absorption of approximately 550,000 trees, thus contributing to the global effort to combat climate change.
