A newly inaugurated Multimodal Transportation Centre at Suvarnabhumi Airport is set to elevate Thailand’s role as a pivotal regional logistics hub. This state-of-the-art facility integrates land, rail, sea, and air transportation, offering a streamlined approach to goods movement across Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV).
The center’s innovative design allows for centralized customs clearance, which not only simplifies logistics but also reduces operational costs. This initiative supports the broader objective of enhancing Thailand’s position in the regional aviation sector.
Covering an area of 4,872 square meters and representing a significant investment, the center is projected to contribute 80 million baht in revenue for fiscal year 2025. It is anticipated to handle between 40,000 and 50,000 tonnes of cargo, with revenue and cargo volumes expected to grow by 10-15% annually.
The facility has already attracted over ten logistics and transportation companies, reflecting its immediate impact and alignment with the growth of e-commerce. Special emphasis on air cargo underscores Thailand’s strategic advantage in the CLMV region and its expanding role in global logistics.
The Multimodal Transportation Centre is set to enhance efficiency, support economic growth, and position Thailand as a leader in modern logistics. With plans to achieve financial break-even within 7-8 years, the center is poised to make a significant contribution to both regional and global supply chains.
