A leading Spanish logistics company specializing in temperature-controlled goods has expanded its European operations by opening a new logistics center in Belfort, Bourgogne-Franche-ComtĂ© region, France. This facility marks the company’s first foray into the French market, boasting an impressive total area of 77,000 square meters.
The inauguration of this center is a strategic move to enhance the company’s logistics capabilities across France, Germany, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe. The initial phase includes a 9,500 square meter central hall dedicated to refrigerated cross-docking services, equipped with 84 loading bays. Plans for a second phase are already underway, which will mirror the first in capacity and design, effectively doubling the logistic capabilities of the site.
This new facility joins an extensive network of operations, adding to the seven existing sites on the Iberian Peninsula and 45 other logistics centers across Europe. The establishment of this platform in Belfort not only strengthens the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for specialized logistics solutions but also significantly enhances the logistical framework within Europe.
Damien Meslot, president of Grand Belfort, highlighted the positive impact of the new logistics center on the local area, noting its role in diversifying the region’s economic activities and boosting the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Aéroparc joint development zone.
This development is seen as a pivotal enhancement to the supply chain infrastructure in Europe, providing robust support for the distribution of perishable goods across the continent.
