Mozambique is making a significant leap in air cargo logistics with the development of Africa’s first Airport Cargo Community System (ACS), a major step toward modernizing supply chain operations in the region. As air traffic and cargo volumes continue to grow, the country is investing in digital solutions to enhance trade efficiency, improve cargo visibility, and streamline customs processes.
The implementation of ACS will address key challenges such as revenue leakage, limited transparency, and the reliance on manual documentation. By integrating financial and customs systems with advanced digital cargo management, stakeholders will gain real-time tracking capabilities, automated compliance checks, and seamless data exchange. These advancements will not only improve operational efficiency but also contribute to Mozambique’s potential as a multi-modal logistics hub within Africa.
The first phase of the system’s rollout will cover eight airports, with plans for expansion to twelve more. This initiative reflects the increasing role of technology in supply chain management, fostering faster and more reliable cargo movement. As Mozambique strengthens its logistics infrastructure, it paves the way for enhanced global trade connectivity and long-term economic growth.
