A major step forward in Malaysia’s logistics infrastructure has been realized with the opening of a new state-of-the-art logistics center near the Batu Kawan Industrial Park in Penang. Spanning over 9,200 square meters, the facility is designed to meet the growing demand for efficient, secure, and value-added logistics services, particularly for the semiconductor and medical equipment sectors.
Strategically located just 25 kilometers from Penang Airport and close to key transport routes such as the Penang Second Bridge and major expressways, the new logistics center positions itself as a vital hub in northern Malaysia’s supply chain network.
Penang, often dubbed the “Silicon Valley of the East,” is home to a booming technology and electronics manufacturing industry. The state’s growing role in the production and distribution of semiconductors and medical devices has intensified the need for reliable and high-capacity logistics solutions.
The newly launched facility boasts advanced features such as 12-meter high ceilings, high-floor berths, electric dock levelers, and full 24-hour security surveillance. It is also equipped to support repacking, labeling, and kitting operations, ensuring seamless logistics management from storage to delivery.
This development marks a significant boost to the region’s trade and export capabilities, offering scalable logistics support to both domestic and international businesses looking to strengthen their footprint in Southeast Asia.
