A major logistics hub in Graz has completed a significant expansion following nearly two years of development, aimed at meeting the increasing demand for products across Austria. This expansion marks the fifth phase of the site’s transformation and reflects efforts to enhance the supply chain infrastructure in the region.
The expanded facility now serves an estimated 1.4 million people in Styria and Southern Burgenland, with the logistics area growing by 40%. An additional 12,000 pallet spaces have been introduced, allowing for more efficient distribution and storage of goods.
According to company leadership, the expansion is a strategic move to bolster logistical capabilities and strengthen the supply chain. The renovated site will ensure a more consistent supply of products and improve service to customers.
One notable upgrade includes the installation of an advanced photovoltaic system, producing six times more electricity than the previous setup. The system’s output has surged from 114 kilowatts peak to 700 kilowatts peak, signaling a commitment to integrating more sustainable energy solutions within logistics operations.
This logistics center in Graz is one of six major regional hubs in Austria. It supplies over 270 retail and express stores, processing deliveries from over 570 suppliers each day, with approximately 3,700 pallets of goods handled daily.
