Kazakhstan is making strides in strengthening its role in global trade routes through a strategic logistics collaboration with China. A new agreement has been signed to develop a large-scale logistics complex in Almaty, covering 17.9 hectares, that will significantly improve the country’s capacity for handling international cargo flows.
The upcoming facility will include a high-capacity container terminal capable of processing 300,000 TEU annually, alongside extensive warehousing solutions. This development is poised to transform Almaty into a major export-import hub, reinforcing supply chain efficiency and supporting trade between Asia and Europe.
In addition to this initiative, further agreements have been reached to modernize the Aktau port and enhance its transit capabilities. Plans include acquiring new equipment such as quay cranes and container vessels to improve cargo handling and increase throughput along the China-Europe corridor.
The cooperation between logistics partners is expected to streamline infrastructure, reduce transportation times, and drive trade growth. These enhancements not only elevate Kazakhstan’s position in international logistics but also stimulate job creation, attract foreign investment, and fuel broader economic development.
As these projects advance, Kazakhstan continues to solidify its role as a key logistics and transit hub in Central Asia, contributing to more resilient and integrated global supply chains.
