The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, recently met with the CEO of a leading international logistics service provider based in Germany, Tobias Bartz, to discuss enhancing cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. The meeting, reported by the Prime Minister’s press service on May 23, focused on current projects and the potential for new Kazakh-German enterprises aimed at increasing Kazakhstan’s transit capacity through rail transportation development and storage infrastructure modernization.
Kazakhstan’s strategic location positions it as a key player in global logistics. Bartz highlighted the country’s growing role and expressed a strong interest in expanding partnerships with Kazakh businesses to boost terminal capacity, thereby strengthening the connection between Europe’s supply chain and Central Asia.
Prime Minister Bektenov emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to transparent collaboration with investors to fully realize the nation’s transport, logistics, and transit potential. Kazakhstan is a pivotal hub for major transcontinental transport corridors, offering the shortest routes from Europe to China and Southeast Asia. Collaborative efforts with Azerbaijan and Georgia have already significantly reduced transit times along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).
“The Kazakh government is dedicated to maximizing the country’s transport and logistics capabilities. We are open to joint investment projects and assure a stable, predictable investment climate with favorable business conditions,” stated Bektenov.
