A new international collaboration is set to reshape the future of the green energy supply chain. India and Europe have agreed to work together on establishing a clean hydrogen and low-carbon fuel corridor. This initiative will connect India’s green fuel production with Northwestern Europe through Rotterdam, the largest and most advanced port in Europe.
The agreement focuses on developing a reliable supply chain for hydrogen-based fuels such as green ammonia and green methanol. Plans include building critical infrastructure, including terminal facilities and fuel storage that will support the safe and efficient movement of clean energy products across long distances.
This partnership has the potential to support the export of up to one million tons of hydrogen-based fuels each year. With projected trade volumes reaching one billion US dollars annually, the agreement will contribute significantly to both trade growth and sustainability goals.
By connecting India’s Net Zero Industrial Clusters to European markets, this clean energy route will boost energy security, encourage innovation in transport logistics, and promote cleaner shipping solutions. Rotterdam’s strong global logistics network ensures seamless integration into Europe’s energy distribution system.
This development highlights the growing role of supply chains in supporting environmental progress while opening new trade opportunities between Asia and Europe.
