A new state-of-the-art e-commerce logistics center has been launched in Ethiopia, boasting an investment of US$55 million, according to reports from ENA.
This initiative showcases Ethiopia’s commitment to modernizing its logistics infrastructure to remain competitive internationally. With a global trend towards digital marketing and a decline in traditional freight transport, there’s a rising demand for e-commerce in freight logistics.
The establishment of this third e-commerce logistics center is set to enhance the country’s capacity to facilitate the transportation of goods to various destinations worldwide. Beyond traditional services, this facility is expected to play a crucial role in supporting Ethiopia’s new global market strategy.
Cargo operations contribute significantly to the country’s revenue, making up around 30-35% of the total. The launch of this advanced logistics center is anticipated to further strengthen Ethiopia’s position in the global supply chain landscape.
