Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its role in the global supply chain landscape, earning high-level recognition for its strategic efforts in port infrastructure and logistics development. At the recently held Transport and Logistics Middle East Awards 2025 in Dubai, the Kingdom was honored for its excellence in both ‘Ports Infrastructure’ and ‘Logistics Hub’ categories — a testament to its growing influence in regional and international trade networks.
This achievement highlights the country’s bold investments and public-private collaborations aimed at enhancing port capabilities. With over SAR 16 billion dedicated to the development and operation of key container terminals, Saudi Arabia is reinforcing its position as a central link between continents. These upgrades are not only expanding capacity but also improving operational efficiency and turnaround times for shipping lines and logistics providers.
Further driving supply chain resilience and connectivity, more than SAR 640 million has been invested into infrastructure improvements, such as berth deepening and the construction of new docking facilities. These enhancements are designed to accommodate the latest generation of ultra-large container vessels, signaling the country’s readiness for high-volume trade demands.
A cornerstone of this logistics transformation is the development of 20 new logistics parks across the Kingdom’s ports. With total investments exceeding SAR 10 billion, these parks aim to provide end-to-end logistics solutions, reduce bottlenecks, and support multimodal transport systems — essential components for modern, agile supply chains.
These milestones align with Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to position the Kingdom as a world-class logistics gateway. Through smart infrastructure, streamlined port operations, and strategic investments, Saudi Arabia is rapidly becoming a critical supply chain enabler for global commerce.
