Kazakhstan is streamlining its fashion supply chain with the launch of an innovative logistics model that utilizes passenger trains for cargo transport, aiming to boost efficiency and reduce delivery times across the country.
A successful shipment of 1,700 kilograms of fashion goods was recently transported from Astana to Almaty, showcasing the potential of this logistics model to serve the growing demands of the retail sector. The initiative supports more than 1,000 independent stores and over 2,500 retail outlets nationwide by cutting travel time, lowering transportation costs, and increasing product availability in key regions.
This approach is expected to optimize freight movement between major urban centers, including Shymkent, Atyrau, Karagandy, Kyzylorda, and Kostanai. By integrating cargo onto high-speed passenger trains, the model meets safety standards while enabling retailers to access a more responsive and reliable logistics network.
The development signifies a step forward in building a modern, cost-effective transport system that enhances supply chain resilience and supports regional retail growth in Kazakhstan.
